This is Matilda "making her wish"
Here is the story of the miracle that is our Matilda. After Ruby was born we knew we wanted her to have a sibling, so when she was 2 yrs old we started giving it a serious try. After a year we were elated to find out we were pregnant! We just started to tell our friends and family at about the 10 week mark, and then I had a miscarriage. We were devestated, but after our healing work was done, we decided to keep trying. Well...after 2 years of trying...and a variety of tests, we gave up hope. I gave away all of our baby clothes, equipment and decided to just "let go" of the dream of having another baby...after all, we were SO blessed to have Ruby, she was healthy, vibrant and full of joy.
"Yay...I did it!"
Wouldn't you know it...about 3 months after purging all of my baby stuff, I was pregnant!!!
On this day 2 years ago this sweet little soul came into our world. My birth story is a whole other post, but to summarize, I had a c-section that was just the best experience in the world. My partner was there by my side. My doula friend was waiting outside the surgery room, (and held my hand in the recovery room), the midwife was there to greet me as we were sent upstairs...I think I was about the most supported woman in the hospital that day, and believe me, I felt blessed. At this hour we were surrounded by family and friends getting to know our sweet little girl, who was SO wanted and SO dearly loved.
Here's to the JOY of being 2!
