The BEST damn raw energy balls ever!!!!

Here's a quick, easy, delicious and nutritious recipe!!!    Perfect for those summer days when you just want a quick "something" to get you through the day!!

You'll need:
1/4 cup sesame seeds
1/4 cup sunflower seeds
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup dates or dried apricots
1/2 cup peanut, almond butter or tahini

Put all of your ingredients together in the food processor...

Process until it's all ground together...

Then roll into balls

Alternately, you can also press it into an 8-inch square baking dish, and stick them in your fridge, cutting them into "bars" and eating!  Balls or bars, store them in the fridge!

Matilda pretty much devoured most of our treats!!!

Oh...and as a bonus, here's one of my other favourite raw ball recipes!!  If you like halvah, this one tastes just like it!!!

1 cup tahini
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup dates
1 tsp vanilla extract

-process all the ingredients together...roll into balls...refrigerate!!!
These are my personal favourites!!!

Happy eating!!!

  2. sounds great but what's tahini? I can't wait to try them I think the first one is the one I'm gonna give a go tomorrow. Let you know how they come out.

  3. For Love of My Oceans...tahini is sesame paste...you can buy it at any health food store, as well as some grocery stores, (it will likely be with the peanut butter/almond butter)
However...when I don't have any on hand, I usually just substitute with almond butter, (this will alter the taste of the halva balls, but they'll still be delicious)!

  4. I'm going to try the sunflower one very soon! First, it's been waaaaay too hot to cook anything, second, I already have all those ingredients on hand and they are just dying to come together into a bar! Thanks for sharing :)

  5. My mom - and long time raw vegan, used to make these all the time! Still love them - we make a version of this that changes every time. I often press them into a pan and cut them into power bars.

    Thanks!
and thanks for the blog comment!

  15. Adding some coconut oil adds some nutritious calories, energy, and helps preserve the balls to last longer too!

  16. Adding some organic coconut oil provides healthy fatty acids and aids with shelf life also!
